Ten individuals convicted of digital abuse targeting Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has ruled against ten people for carrying out the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced accusations of spreading untruths regarding her gender identity and sexual orientation, in addition to making defamatory statements about the couple's significant age difference.
The court issued suspended prison sentences of up to eight months to the defendants. The full ruling has not yet been published.
A longstanding false narrative alleging that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has spread widely since her husband's rise to the presidency in 2017.
This recent ruling in France coincides with the Macrons pursuing a legal action for defamation in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the first lady's gender.
Their legal filing contends that Owens brushed aside any factual proof disproving her claim opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has often echoed these assertions on her show and social networks, and in March 2024 stated that she would bet her whole career on her insistence that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron first met her current spouse when she taught at his high school.
The couple entered into matrimony in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
