I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
