Ex- Physician Faces Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
